Frequently Asked Questions
-
Absolutely. Even professional actors feel uncomfortable when the cameras first start rolling. I create a calm, relaxed atmosphere, get people talking and laughing, and before they know it, they've forgotten about the camera and the session is over.

Every life is different, so every interview is different. We'll talk about childhood, family, relationships, important experiences, favorite memories, values, and wisdom. While allowing the conversation to naturally lead us to stories we may never have expected.
-
Whenever possible, I film your loved one in the comfort of their own home. Depending on your package, we could also film at locations that hold special meaning to their life and story.

Legacy Story projects start at $3,000. Each project is individually quoted based on the filming and editing needed to tell your loved one’s story.
During your complimentary consultation, we’ll discuss their life, the stories that matter most to your family, and your budget. Together, we’ll establish what your project will include, and you’ll receive a clear proposal with the total cost before filming begins.
Our interviews explore their broader life story, while the initial editing focuses on the stories we agree to include. Additional recorded stories can become future films, allowing your family to build their collection over time.
Legacy Documentary projects require multiple filming days and extensive editing and are quoted separately.
Payment plans are available. A deposit is required before filming, with the remaining balance paid on an agreed schedule.

There's no stopwatch running during an Honor Films interview. The length depends on your package and the conversation itself. The goal is to give your loved one time to relax, remember, laugh, and tell their stories without feeling rushed.
-
Depending on your package, we can include spouses, family members, friends, and other important people who can help tell your loved one's story.
-
Yes please! They're an essential part of bringing your loved one's story to life. Family photographs, home videos, letters, and other meaningful pieces allow us to see the people, places, and moments they're remembering as they share their stories. These personal materials help create a film that doesn't just tell their story, but allows your family to experience it with them.
-
Every story is different, so there isn't one standard runtime. The length depends on your package, interviews, and the story itself. I won't cut a meaningful moment to hit an arbitrary runtime.
-
Every Honor Film is carefully created and edited, so the timeline will vary depending on the package you choose and the scope of your film. If your film includes family photographs, home videos, or other personal materials, the timeline will also depend on when those items are received.
We'll discuss the expected timeline for your film during the planning process and keep you updated along the way.
-
The consultation is where we begin discovering what your Honor Film will become. We'll talk about your loved one, the stories and moments you want to preserve, and begin creating an outline for the film. Most importantly, we'll talk about how you hope your family will feel when they sit down and watch it. Because that feeling helps guide how we tell their story.
-
No worries. That's exactly what the complimentary consultation is for. Tell me about your loved one and what you'd like to preserve, and I'll help you choose the option that best fits your story.

An Honor Film can be a meaningful gift for someone you love or for someone they love. Whether it's your own parent or grandparent, a spouse's family member, or even a friend's parent or loved one, gifting an Honor Film helps preserve a life and the memories that matter to the people closest to them.
